I've upgraded from an i7-4790K to the i9-12900K a couple of months ago and have reused the NH-D15. While the previous processor was happily sitting at about 60 degrees at full load, the 12900K is quite a bit hotter, topping out at 90 (idle about 30 while regular workload seems to be around 50-60). I understand fully the 12900K is a power hungry
Feb 8, 2015. #16. Noctua's do have good fans (peformance) and is a large part of the cost of the cooler. A dual fan cooler from noctua likely has $40+ worth of fans on it alone if they were bought retail separately. Their color choices are out there and the 'ugly' colors have sort of become iconic.
The Noctua NH-D15 is a high-performance CPU cooler that is known for its cooling performance. It is also relatively quiet, making it a good choice for users who want a cooler that can handle high loads without producing too much noise. A silent and cheap CLC pump is almost as expensive as a whole Noctua NH-D15, it might all in all end up to costs the same as 3 noctua NH-D15 for a good and silent clc . Hope i can keep my i7 4790k at temps below 80 with prime 95 by only having the cpu cooler running at max rpm and low load temps under 50 degrees (both with case fans at low rpm)

NH-D15 with a single fan is virtually identical to NH-D15s. Adding a second fan to either cooler will help, but it won't make a huge difference. Any Noctua themselves have said that adding a THIRD fan to any of these coolers (It's not common, but I've seen a number of builds here and on PCpartpicker with this setup) will make hardly any

Any-Cricket-4758. • 1 yr. ago. In noctua website, they calculate that the nh u12a is superior then the nh d15. If i remember correctly its 169 for the u12a vs 165 ish for the nh d15. Btw the number are point that noctua give to indicate which one is better. 1. IlzaGilza. • 10 mo. ago. Just upgraded to a 13900k.
Icegiant is efficient for larger heatspreaders like the ones on TR. Delayed until Q1 2023. Just in time for the dust to settle with the new cpu/gpu launches. Noctua released in 2020 already a live comparison between a NH-D15 and Next-gen D15. The difference was just 2 kelvin.
Noctua NH-D15. Story: 8 months ago, I bought a Corsair H100i Pro AIO to replace the AMD stock cooler. Despite re-seating it a couple of times, my temps were: Furmark CPU Burner: 80.05 degrees Celsius. AIDA64 CPU Package: 85 degrees Celsius. A week ago, I bought the Noctua NH-D15 from NewEgg and installed it. I had to replace the 2nd fan with a No one at 30 db is more coolt than a noctua nh-d15 or nh-u14s except mabye a thermalright le grand mach but not more than 1 degrees. A clc can be more cool an silent than the best aio and air coolers, but they cost alot more since a good silent pump costs as much as a noctua nh-u14s or Be Quiet Dark Rock 3. Go for single, i do lose 3-7 C in temp going with 1 insted of 2, and i took fan number 2 and installed it in the back and gpu did go down with 5 C. CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK RAM: Kingston Beast 8GB (2 x 4GB) SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB HHD Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB GPU Asus GeForce The Noctua NH-D15 is still a dual tower CPU cooler like its predecessor, but it has grown in size. As it is wider, the distance between each heatpipe is also wider. The older Noctua NH-D14’s width is only at 140mm while the new Noctua NH-D15 measures in at 150mm. From the side view we can see that Noctua solves RAM clearance issues with a cut .
